Kyer Family

June 21, 2018

I would like to thank the WCMTS board for the bursary offered to my son Ryan Kyer and everyone involved with the Empowering Steps Movement Therapy Program.

Ryan has been attending Movement Therapy classes at Club Aviva twice a week for the past 5 years as well as several of the summer week long sessions.

The improvement that Ryan has achieved over the years has been tremendous. He started as a young child that largely lacked cooperation and the ability to follow direction. The Movement Therapists through patients and understanding recognized how to help Ryan to reach these goals. Now Ryan is able to demonstrate cooperation while developing skills in agility, balance and strength.

Ryan was first diagnosed with ASD at 3 years of age. He was formally diagnosed with Development Coordination Delay at the age of 7. The Movement Therapy Program has been essential in helping him to develop basic and more advanced coordination skills. The development of these skills are key to addressing self esteem issues as my son is becoming more aware of his lack of ability.

The Movement Therapy group do an amazing job of working with Ryan to improve skills, promote cooperation all while fostering confidence and personal growth.

I couldn’t be more grateful. Out of all the therapies that my son receives this has provided the greatest success.

Sincerely,
Wendy Kyer
